A modern-day London actor is hurled back to 1803, where a love that defies the centuries awaits.

For Kipling Summerfield, the glamour of Hollywood is becoming a distant memory. After losing the role of a lifetime, he’s forced to take a lesser job as a historical reenactor on England’s Guilford Island. But a sudden storm changes everything, casting him into the ocean—and into the care of a mysterious lighthouse keeper. Kip assumes everyone he meets and the island’s historical setting are just an elaborate performance—until he meets the captivating Amelia Archibald, whose quiet strength feels too real, making him question everything about Guilford.

Amelia has spent her life as an unimportant poor relation and is now trapped by her late grandfather’s will on an island she loathes because of her great fear of the sea. When Kip stumbles into her world, his strange ideas and warm presence are both a disruption and an unexpected light.

As Kip and Amelia work to save Guilford Island, an undeniable connection blooms between them. But when Kip uncovers the truth about where—or when—he is, he must make an impossible choice: rise to meet the expectations of Amelia’s world and build a life worthy of her station or walk away from the love that has redefined his very existence.

A great set up and adherence to the times. I loved the dialog and wished we could have seen more of the supporting characters.

Great time travel romance

I love this world of time travel that Sarah M. Eden has created! The Tides of Time are complex plots with HEA’s that are just right, although not always obvious, which I really like!

The main characters definitely need one another and have strong character arcs.

A wonderful story!

This is an overall case of just really enjoying the book. Not a whole lot of surprises, unless they were pleasant surprises for the reader.
I really dislike all the contention between romantic leads because they refuse to talk to each other and make assumptions about the others actions or expect the other to understand their viewpoint when they never expressed their viewpoint.

pleasant dialogue between the romantic leads

Fun, clean, time travel romance.

There are a lot of clean romance books that seem to exist because there is a demand for the genre, but just aren’t very good. This isn’t one of those. The story is compelling on its own and worth the read. I thought the character Kit was way too obtuse to be believable and for awhile it was very hard to suspend disbelief, but other than that it’s a well written and compelling story, and not overly cutesy, like some clean romance books.

Very well written for the genre.
