Do you experience intense, quick emotions, have a deep, rich inner life, and feel overstimulated at times and need to withdraw to recharge in quiet? You may be a highly sensitive man! In this new book by Dr. Tracy Cooper, the author of Thrive: The Highly Sensitive Person and Career and Thrill: The High Sensation Seeking Highly Sensitive Person, you will learn how to allow your personality trait in ways that empower yourself and others.

Drawing on his own original research and others, plus years of working with highly sensitive men as a consultant in many crucial areas of life, he explores the topic of highly sensitive men from a viewpoint that is broad and rich in context and meaning.

Addressing such topics as anger in men, perceptions, and misophonia, Dr. Cooper adds to the existing body of work on highly sensitive men, while enlarging the conversation around masculinity and how it is expressed. This book does not take the position that masculinity is toxic. Rather, how it is expressed in each man is within his control and responsibility to rise up as the quiet leaders, the patient healers, and the curious scientists and creators in a world that sorely needs men who can think and act in a divergent and convergent way.

This audiobook seeks to address and explore topics that have been left out of the conversation to date, such as giftedness, broad visions of career possibilities, and avoiding the stereotypes so easily attributed to groups of people who are different. Empowering the Sensitive Male Soul is about finding your voice through the cultural confusion and expressing it in ways that move us closer to self-realization and wholeness.

Whether you are a sensitive man or know one, this book is invaluable in depicting them as high potential, high empathy, and wonderfully creative and worthwhile souls.

I have two sensitive sons and one is also a high sensation seeker. I believe my father and grandfather were sensitive souls and they passed the trait onto me. With all this male sensitivity in my family, I wanted to get a better understanding of what it is like to be a highly sensitive male.

Dr Tracy Cooper speaks directly to the depth of my soul. There is just something about the way he phrases things and describes things that his words are so easy for me to absorb. I don't have to translate in my brain to figure out meaning. It is like an intellectual IV for me. Plus, I like the way he phrases things in his own way and doesn't use phraseology that many other HSP leaders use to encapsulate and provide short cut phrases to pass on core knowledge of our trait.

I find Dr Cooper's words to be very dense sometimes, meaning he doesn't use a lot of throwaway or filler words (like I tend to do). When he is describing an aspect of our trait he gets right to the heart of it without any fluff. That really works well for me, so I soak up his words like the sponge that I am.

This book gave me a lot of insight about male HSPs, but more importantly, he presents a clear outline of how to approach life, what to watch out for and what to consider. He talks about what parts of our trait are the most difficult and how to work with them. In a way, it is like a formula for living a sensitive life as a male.

He knows what he is saying since he is also living the life and had to spend figuring it out for himself. I appreciate the tidbits of personal anecdotes that give me a better picture of who he is and that only leads me to have greater respect for his work. He is a solid, deeply thinking and insightful person and there is much we can all learn from him.

Powerful insight about sensitive males
