The headlines don’t lie—two pro football players went head-to-head… over me.

My brother warned me. Don’t touch Branch Best.
They might be teammates and best friends, but Branch is a heartbreaker.

The smirk. The swagger. His playboy reputation is well earned. So obviously, I was drawn to the red flag like a wide receiver to an end zone.

One fun, carefree night. Game over.

That is, until two faint pink lines turned the secret into the biggest scandal of the sports season. Now fists are flying on the field, my brother won’t talk to me, and I want to bury myself under the covers with an entire coffee cake and forget the world.

This was never supposed to be serious, but the game has changed. And now I must ask—are we just a fumble…or the end game?

I really liked this book but I wish it would have been even longer! Duet narration with these 2 is sooo much better. Probably wouldn’t have grabbed it if it wasn’t. Glad I did

So cute

Branch & Layla's pull was so magnetic, no matter how hard they tried to avoid it. They are the perfect blend of intoxicating chemistry, swoon, sass, witty banter, laughs, feels, and an abundance of steam. I absolutely loved this accidental pregnancy, best friend's sister romance. I couldn't get enough of these two together. This is one I will listen to several times a year. It was fun, emotional, and just plain amazing!! Wen Ross & Kai Kennicott are remarkable bringing the characters to life. You could hear how much heart they put into their performance as they captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. They are entertaining storytellers, and their captivating performance keeps you enthralled from beginning to end.

Adriana Locke pens another fabulous novel, a brother’s best friend sports romance with witty banter that puts a smile on your face and smoking hot chemistry that has you fanning yourself. Branch Best, a professional football player, is a player on and off the field, and his view on settling down is that it is not happening. Layla’s older brother, Finn, plays on the same team as Branch, and they are good friends, and he warned his sister to stay away from him and him from her. Except there was an undeniable chemistry between them, one they gave into, neither expecting more from their steamy encounter. Layla just ended a relationship with another pro football player and doesn’t want a repeat, but giving in to their desires and spending one night together couldn’t hurt. I adored these two characters, and her brother, Finn, and her best friend Poppy were amazing, too. I loved how everything played out in this book, with an accidental pregnancy leading to some drama, but once things cooled down, it eventually warmed up, before steaming up, again. There is never a dull moment in this book, and as always the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. Adriana Locke, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride, a romance that warms your heart in the end.

🎧📚🎧 Wed Ross and Kai Kennicott did a great job voicing the characters, taking each role and making it their own, delivering a perfect portrayal of each. Both nailed it in the two lead roles, Layla and Branch, completely embodying their personalities, as well as their every emotion, which they conveyed in their performance. They set the ideal tone for the story and handled the witty dialogue and banter effortlessly. These two are entertaining storytellers, and their riveting performance keeps you glued to the story.

I loved the first half of this book. I just can’t get past how mean he was to her when finding out she’s pregnant. I know this is a book, but my heart broke for her because I was in the exact same situation at 19. This isn’t romantic. It’s brutal.

I was provided the audiobook for free via the author, all opinions are my own.

I've had this on my TBR forever, since it was originally published as Lucky Number Eleven in 2017. I love the rebrand and think the new cover is adorable. That being said this is not my favorite of Adriana's books. The audiobooks is well narrated, which is not a surprise as both narrators are very talented. While I am a huge fan of the author, I'm not a fan of pregnancy tropes in books in general and I probably would have skipped this one had I realized.

I didn't really feel the chemistry between Layla and Branch, it was more insta-lust, also not my favorite but it can be redeemed. I prefer more development in the couple's relationship especially when you say they are End Game. Their story stays more physical and in my opinion never gave me what I wanted from a romance. If you are here for the spice this might be for you, but this one didn't work for me.

Not my favorite tropes
