Fighting for the Colony is the second of two volumes revised and expanded from the original Keeping the Colony. This volume follows Ricky as he goes up against an interstellar empire.

Ricky’s forces continue their counterattack against the Interstellars at a rapid pace. His Marines initiate their first invasions and orbital drops. A new hero arises who turns into the leader the Marines need to build their history and esprit de corps. The Spindle Military does their best to not lose their momentum in their advancements against the Interstellars.

Ricky has to deal with the fallout from freeing nearly two hundred million slaves found on spaceships and the logistics of dealing with upwards of sixty-five billion ex-slaves he is liberating in the Interstellars Empire. It takes him time, but he finally begins to understand he can’t run everything himself, and he must start delegating responsibilities to those best able to handle them.

Ricky also has to fall back on his developing skills of statesmanship to deal with the leaders of Earth as a rumored enemy begins making overt moves in Sol System.
