It is the purpose of this book, the first of a two-part series, to, through an Epicurean lens, examine the obstacles to a good life and introduce solutions.

Most of what this book says, the sequel will expand on, but much must be left to the listener to develop in their own mind and in their own way.

This book has been written and edited with that critical view in mind. Once the background material has been covered, the obstacles to a pleasant life will be presented, followed by the tools required to overcome them, and then the habits and practice that apply those tools.

Book two will expand on this by presenting potential problems with Epicurean ideas and methods, and troubleshoot additional obstacles that may emerge in applying them.

The entire audio book did not keep my attention, and I must admit I've glossed over some parts. Despite that, the audiobook was interesting enough for me to gain a broad and beginner's introduction to Epicurean philosophy, and also a recommendation to further my understanding.

Decent Intro to a New Philosophical Standpoint

I thought this was a decent overview of Epicurean philosophy. The author did a good job of laying down the basic principles without too much of their own philosophy seeping in.

The text frequently refers to a "Part 2", which I can't find on Audible, and am unsure whether it exists as an audiobook.
