In Karen Marie Moning's latest installment of the epic number one New York Times best-selling Fever series, Mac, Barrons, Ryodan, and Jada are back - and the stakes have never been higher and the chemistry has never been hotter. Hurtling us into a realm of labyrinthine intrigue and consummate seduction, Feverborn is a riveting tale of ancient evil, lust, betrayal, forgiveness, and the redemptive power of love.

When the immortal Fae destroyed the ancient wall dividing the worlds of Man and Faery, the very fabric of the universe was damaged, and now Earth is vanishing bit by bit. Only the long-lost Song of Making - a haunting, dangerous melody that is the source of life itself - can save the planet.

But those who seek the mythic song must contend with old wounds and new enemies, passions that burn hot and hunger for vengeance that runs deep. The challenges are many: the Keltar at war with nine immortals who've secretly ruled Dublin for eons, Mac and Jada hunted by the masses, the Seelie queen nowhere to be found, and the most powerful Unseelie prince in all creation determined to rule both Fae and Man. Now the task of solving the ancient riddle of the Song of Making falls to a band of deadly warriors divided among - and within - themselves.

Once a normal city possessing a touch of ancient magic, Dublin is now a treacherously magical city with only a touch of normal. And on those war-torn streets, Mac will come face-to-face with her most savage enemy yet: herself.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would not recommend the AUDIO version of the book to anyone. The narration ruined it. Dancer is not Irish, yet has an awful Irish accent. The Nine sounded like whimpy old men and gave you an image of little leprechauns.

Would you recommend Feverborn to your friends? Why or why not?

I am now going to purchase the printed version of the book so I can read the book without the taint of the narrators.

Would you be willing to try another one of Luke Daniels and Jill Redfield ’s performances?

No. They were not well matched to this story and it would be hard to overcome that.

Did Feverborn inspire you to do anything?

Purchase the book in print form.

Any additional comments?

I have enjoyed all of Moning's books and hope that I can say the same about this after I read it instead of listening to it.

Narration ruined the story

What did you like best about Feverborn? What did you like least?

Enjoyed the story and already can't wait for Feversong. Please, please, please get a new male narrator! I had a hard time connecting with the male characters because the voices/inflections for each of the male characters were so off. Luke Daniels has a fine voice - just not for this series.....wasn't deep, dangerous or sexy enough. His reading was no where near the level of Phil Gagante. Jill Redfield did okay but do prefer Natalie Ross for this series.

Narrator K'Vrocked the excitement.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

If the editors would have waited for Phil and Natalie to read this book! I would have been willing to wait for the audio book if they were to read this book.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I am having a hard time following these performances/ Narrators. Barons sounds creepy to me and I just do not like these narrators. :(

Where is Phil and Natalie?

These are normally my favorite series to listen to. I love how they work the male and female voices back and forth, and Phil's deep, sexy growl is to die for. That's why I was a little confused when I noticed such a low rating the day it came out. Then I saw the switch in narrators. After looking at some reviews, I felt bad for Luke and Jill and wondered why people said they were horrible.

I absolutely adore Luke Daniels. He is one of my voice crushes. He doesn't have the same darkly masculine vocal power that Phil has, but after getting used to the change, I still enjoyed the book (admittedly, it took a little while, and I had a small tantrum at missing Phil's eargasmic voice). Luke's Shazam made me laugh each time, and I didn't think he made the characters sound old. I thought Jill did an admirable job as well. I also enjoyed how they kept the female voices to Jill and the male voices to Luke, sticking with the same style as they had with Phil and Natalie.

As for the story, I felt like there were some slow points and found my mind wandering away, but overall, it was still a fun ride, and there were a couple big emotional punches that made me hungry for the next book.

Please Don't Hate on Luke and Jill

The Fever series is a terrific bit of writing so I highly suggest you pick up the book. The narration was distracting. Jill Redfield did well, her accents were less of a struggle then with previous readers. The real issue was with Luke Daniels. He did better with younger characters like Christian but Phil G.'s baritone was truly missed for Barrons.
