I had read Fighting Back before and I knew who Rocky Bleier was. I wanted a refresh on his story and downloaded this version of the story. Wow! The impact was so much deeper hearing the story from Mr. Bleier himself. I felt like we were hanging out at our favorite bar while he was telling me his story. His voice and the way he is able to read his story really brings the story to life. I could see the family bar in Appleton, feel the freezing rain and snow on the field in Pittsburgh during December games, feel the thick hot air in Vietnam. Truly a testament to the art of story telling. Even if you read this book before - listen to this version. If you have young people in your life, add it to their devices. It should be a story that keeps on “Fighting Back”.

I have always been a huge Rocky Bleier fan, I watched him play with the Steelers as a young boy with my dad. I remember being eight years old and getting the t-shirt with the saying “One for the thumb in 81.” My mom had fits trying to get that shirt off me. I watched the movie multiple times, but never read the book. To be able to listen to my childhood hero read his life story was amazing! Rocky is in my opinion one of the true greats that never was considered to be great! Thanks Rocky for the trip down memory lane.

Being able to hear Rocky himself read this is a game changer. we have the physical copy of the book as well. just being able to hear him tell his story is a unique experience. You definitely get sucked right in to listening!
Wonderful story. Even more WONDERFUL human.
