There was reluctance to buy another joke book but I'm glad I got this. This goes deep into the technicalities of joke writing. it's super awesome.

I read Finding Your Comic Genius earlier this year and loved what I learned. It gave me a new layer of understanding about writing, rewriting, presenting, and delivering standup comedy. Then when I found out the book would be released on audio, I grabbed it immediately as an early Christmas gift to myself.

Here's what surprised me. Reading the book had already helped me better understand techniques related to polishing my jokes and mechanics for stronger joke delivery. However, hearing it in audio format hit differently. I picked up and learned things I don't remember reading the first and second time through.

Overall, this book made me aware of what I wasn't doing, what I was doing wrong, and what specifically I could fix. Listening to it now for the second time is helping those fixes become automatic. Having multiple narrators is a treat, making the audio feel like direct coaching through the concepts.
