When I started this book, I expected it to fall short like sequels often do. I however was very surprised by how good it is, and the direction the author went with the story.

After reading this second book of the series there is improvement and the overall feel of the story and characters for me, as the first one left me lukewarm and only mildly interested in continuing with the series in general.

Having chosen to read on I found a better understanding of Janet, she is tough, smart and compassionate. A well rounded character is forming and her relationships with the other characters are coming to life and feel more sincere. I look forward to reading the rest of the series now.

The daughter of an underworld goddess she is being trailed and monitored by gods, powerful dragons and others who are watching to see if she will realize the strength of her own power and if she will be able to handle it wisely or destroy the world.

A very good listen, books 1 and 3 and 4 build on this one making a series worth listening.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I certainly would. The narrator is good. Her voice may not change a lot in variation (that usually bothers me) but Hillary Huber's voice really does weave a spell and keep me engaged in the story.

What other book might you compare Firewalker to and why?

Jenn Stark's Immortal Vegas series, Domino Finn's Black Magic Outlaw, Stephen Blackmoore's Eric Carter series - these series are somewhat the same subject - sort of - and they are all very good.

Have you listened to any of Hillary Huber’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have never heard Hillary before but I have already picked up another book of her narration already. She has such a lilting, calm and easy going voice that is really a treat to listen to.
