His only friend, his trusty Gnar to keep him company. Unbeknownst to Firkin, three other survivors are also roaming the wilderness. One, a young girl on the cusp of womanhood, had left her family that day in anger, wishing to never see them again. She got her wish, and is now battling her own guilt while taking care of two small children who had also survived the so called "advent". In a primitive world, the group will have to endure their worst nightmares, while trying to keep hope. Just when things seem their worst, along comes Henry Copperfield.
