THE EPIC CONCLUSION!
Forever Family is the fifth and final book in the Thunderstrike series, which chronicles the adventures of a ragtag group of aliens on the run in a dangerous universe.
If you like aliens of all shapes and sizes, playful banter and dark humor, plus endless space battles, you'll love it!

Note: This series is an homage to thrilling pulp sci-fi of yesteryear. If you're interested in hard science fiction look elsewhere. But if you're looking for action-packed adventures on strange worlds with even stranger aliens, this series is for you.

I really like how he has a wide variety of aliens with very differing cultures. He seems to focus on the importance of getting along with people that are quite diverse & appreciating people for who they are, by their actions & not how they look.
He has lots of battles, space & ground to keep the action moving. Sometimes things are a bit too simplistic & sometimes you have to really suspend disbelief, but overall his books have interesting characters, a good flow & are a fun, easy listen, that always leave me eager to start the next book to find out what's going to happen next!
There was just 1 plot point that didn't make sense to me, but maybe I missed something that explained why the alien leader could only tell him something important in person as that was used as a major plot device/point & had he known, it would've saved thousands of lives on both sides. Maybe it was one of those things you had to be there for but it seemed like it was a ridiculous way to handle the flow of the storyline. Of course, add to that why he hid from his friends when he did find out, that seemed stupid & mean, actually, but hey, I'm Monday morning quaterbacking here probably! Other than those 2 points, the series was great & Thunderstrike, was one of my favorite, overall.
These, as are most of his books, included in my Audible membership, or available for a small fee with Kindle Plus Add Audible Narration feature, making them affordable. I can't say I'd spend a credit on each book, but that's only because they're soooo short! Each only averages @4hrs & in my opinion, a book should be at least 8, preferably 10 or more hours. I would've spent a credit on a series compilation, some have groupings available for books 1-4.
I'm very grateful to Daniel Young for making his books so affordable & giving me so many hours of easy listening!
Surprisingly, all of his series are different too. They may have sone similarities, as can any sci fi genre, but he manages to put out so many books & I haven't been bored yet. My only fear is running out & I'm afraid I'm almost there!
Last, but no reflection on the author, Audible needs to list these books in their series. It was very difficult to try to figure out what was the next book in the series without having a series link. I had to go to Amazon books to find out & that was a lot of time that could've been easily avoided! This was the only of his series where they gave the title of the next book at the end of the narration, so that was a huge help, but all the rest were a huge hunting game, especially when searches for "Thunderstrike book 4" yielded no results! This was a common & frustrating problem with all his series & a difficulty by Audible that's a disservice to not only the listeners, but the author as well.
I recommend if you want a fun, enjoyable sci fi series with lots of aliens, different planets, action & intrigue, just pick up any of Mr. Young's works! Enjoy.
