Don’t trust outsiders.

Don’t trust law enforcement.

Those are the two rules that people abide by in the hills.

But when murder hits close to home, some speculate a serial killer is loose in their community. One they aren’t equipped to take down.

Elven Hallie might have stumbled in the past, but now he’s a new man.

So when a few hillfolk break their own rules and ask for his help, he is more than ready to take on the case.

But this killer is not like anyone Elven’s ever hunted before. And if he wants to survive, he’ll need to break a few of his own rules.

Love how the story continues and reaches lives that are supposed to be shut off and protected from outsiders and should fear what they aren’t aware of in their own woods.

Excellent story of the backwoods people. Those you think you know. Then discover so much more.

I’ve listened to all of his books. I think he’s a great writer. The stories have a lot of guts and it’s just good fashion listing.

Good story

First, let me begin to say that I love this series. I’m always excited when there’s a new one coming out. I pre-order the whole nine. This book for me was slow until chapter 24. It felt like there was more filler than what I wanted to hear about Mads And Alvin. But then after chapter 24, I was absolutely enthralled, and I was all the way in. I hope this isn’t the last we see of Mads because I do love her character. I hope she finds her way back to him in some way shape or form I look forward to next book. Keep them coming. And thanks for sharing your story with us all.

Chapter 24 until the end set up the most for me

My husband and I both enjoy Elvin and we were glad to see Mads was back. It seemed strange not having Hollis in the book because you start to get attached to him, weird I know. Old Knuckle seemed so backward to us, even though we live in rural Arkansas and have an area that sounds very close to it. Not ours, but everyone steers clear of this area. We enjoyed the book lasting longer and the ending was just how it should have been. It was a great story from beginning to end!

A strange town!
