When the historic Hopkins ferry was raised from the bottom of the lake, who would have thought they were literally raising the dead! But there it was—a skeleton—right before their eyes. Unfortunately, the evidence is slim and soggy: the boat sank in 1949, the victim on board was a woman, and near the body is a piece of unidentifiable lacelike fabric. Sounds like a job for Betsy Devonshire. Betsy knows there's more to this story than what’s on the surface. And once she and patrons of her needlecraft shop start lending a hand, they're sure to stitch together the details of this unnerving mystery...

The story and the characters are interesting, but the narrator is worse than robotic. I really tried to get past her voice, but it’s impossible.

Decent story. Dreadful narrator.

This is the second installment of the Needlecraft Mystery series set in Excelsior MN. In this installment, Betsy falls into another investigation and solves it in her usual entertaining fashion. This is a good book and I will lok forward to the next book in the series.

Pretty good

i liked this book a lot.. it reminded me a bit of a Hallmark murder mystery but that's okay say least it wasn't all about fake romance. at times it seemed like the narrators we're reading right off of their books which was a little irritating.. but nobody should that way. still I thoroughly enjoyed the story and how the figured things out.

I’m delighted with this series which I’ve just discovered! The stories are better than good, and the narration is wonderful! I love the small town where these are set, and I can actually see the knitting shop where much of the dialogue takes place. I recommend this series and this author to anyone wanting a nice, cozy mystery that is hard enough to solve that you may have to go to the very end to find out.

Charming and intriguing!
