Catherine is an accomplished neurosurgeon looking for a fresh start in a new city.

A chance meeting between the two imprints the doctor in Alexis's mind, with thoughts of Catherine pushing to the forefront months after they meet. When life places the pair in the same city, Alexis is unable to deny her attraction to Catherine. As the pair become closer, Alexis finds herself falling for Catherine, despite knowing that her feelings will never be reciprocated. Overall I really enjoyed the story although the characters annoyed me at times. The main issue is Emily Beresfords voice who does Katherines character. I dont think I have ever heard such a horrible voice in all the audible books I have listened to. Katherine is supposed to be beautiful and sexy and it was not portrayed properly with the narrator. It was like listening to a detective from an old 40s movie. Her pitch, cadence, delivery, and tone were absolutely horrible which almost made the book intolerable. The narrator that did Alexis voice was all that was needed and had the perfect voice for Katherine.

Don't know

As others have said, Emily’s voice for the Katherine is painful and really took me out of it.

Story is okay… narration is rough

I really loved the story and how it just pulls you back and forth between the 2 main characters and was looking forward the book 2. I was a little upset to see the same person narrating the book however. She just does not have the soft caressing voice that some of the scenes in that book required. She reads great don't get me wrong but she does not acclimate well to the story. There was another narrator as well in this book who had a very nice voice and very calm and smooth. Love the book!

Awesome story, not so great on the narration

Not a fan of how Emily Beresford narrates and it does not at all mix well with Felicity. At some points I actually wanted to skip over Emily's parts.

Cathy’s heart wasn’t ready for all the feelings coming it’s way. This book was a cliff hanger right up to the end, but it deserves to be heard. Off to my next adventure.

Worth the wait!
