Monty and Ellen Drew’s vacation in the South Seas takes a spooky turn when their cruise ship loses all power. And the temperature drops...unnaturally.

Ellen believes an evil presence has taken over the ship...except Captain Norris doesn’t believe her.

But with the ship dead in the water—and no rescue happening—the captain asks Ellen and Monty for assistance in overcoming possible supernatural forces.

When the crew and passengers begin to mysteriously fall asleep and don’t awaken, Ellen and Monty must discover how the entity is holding the ship hostage...

And why no rescuers can find them.

The story was all right, not too long thankfully. I won't crap on it for using an AI narrator but several parts on the story felt very contrived.

::sigh:: At the risk of sounding misogynistic the story really does come off as a female power fantasy. All the men in the story are a bit simple, sometimes dim, though gratifyingly some are at least competent.
However, despite the MC being the husband, it is very clear that the story is supposed to revolve around his wife. Who is smart and beautiful and solves all problems save a few with the help of her brainy, supportive, but mostly useless husband.

There is an interesting baseline here. I liked the story well enough to listen all the through and it wasn't terribly written. It just wasn't what I'd call good. 2.5 is fair IMO
