Gravity and Grace is a profound and thought-provoking book by French philosopher and mystic Simone Weil, first published posthumously in 1947. The work is a collection of her reflections, aphorisms, and meditations, offering a deep exploration of the human condition, the tension between materiality and spirituality, and the path toward transcendence.

Weil’s reflections are deeply rooted in her experiences with suffering, her study of religion (particularly Christianity, though she drew inspiration from other traditions), and her observations of human behavior. Her insights delve into themes of love, sacrifice, detachment, and the search for truth.

Rather than providing definitive answers, Gravity and Grace offers profound questions and paradoxes. It invites readers to grapple with the challenges of existence and the possibility of finding beauty and meaning amid struggle.

This book remains a timeless exploration of the human spirit, appealing to philosophers, theologians, and anyone seeking a deeper understanding of life’s dualities.

I'm not sure what's going on, but it sounds like someone fed this into an AI reader with no quality check. It reads like it's going through bullet points with no logical flow and a subheader every 20 seconds. It also sounds poorly translated at points. Track down this work elsewhere.

Really disappointed with this. I love this book so much, and I’ve gotten so much from it, but this narration is disastrous. I can almost excuse some occasional offbeat spacing, but they even mispronounced Weil’s last name! How can they get that wrong? I can’t believe Audible let this on their platform at all. It just feels embarrassing for them.

Maybe the worst audiobook ever??

I understand that Weil’s friends composed this for posthumous publication, and it definitely reads like things I would jot down and hope that no one else ever saw.

Irrational and impenetrable
