Back in my youth, I read The Crystal Gryphon and loved it, but never realized that it was only one book in a longer series. I'm delighted to have found these well-narrated audio editions. Listening to them, I have been carried deeper into the saga involving the Gryphon while building my knowledge of the surrounding culture, its history, its geography and people. Every book in the High Hallack Cycle is worthwhile, although one or two of them seemed a little "unfinished," more like vignettes than complete stories. Taken overall, however, the series is a standout.
