Secrets. Everybody’s got ‘em, including me. Especially me.

The difference is mine will never be revealed, whereas I can easily get yours, assuming the price offered by your enemy is right and the scales of justice appeal to my personal standards of ethics. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. The thing that’s not so easy for a shy guy like me? Finding Ms. Right and locking her down.

Speaking of Ms. Right, the very night I was set up with Hannah Milliken by our mutual friend, I knew I’d one day kneel before her with a ring in hand. Hannah’s the kind of girl who’ll gleefully dance like a gorilla with me in the coolest nightclub or belt out a karaoke duet from Grease like her very life depends on it. She’s gorgeous, too. Funny and smart. And she even wears librarian glasses. See? Perfect.

I don’t doubt Hannah’s the one for me. Indubitably, she is. I only wonder how a dork like me could possibly land a goddess like her.

Unfortunately, when catastrophe strikes, all my questions are rendered moot. Now that Hannah knows the truth about me not actually working in cybersecurity—as well as the questionable things I’ve done to win her over—will I lose my dream girl forever, or is there still a chance for us to chase our happily ever after?

This is definitely the worst in the series. Boring and the female narrator’s voice is annoying.

Lauren Rowe is one of my favorite authors, so I'm not surprised I loved this one, but I am surprised how much. I fell in love with LR's world in her unique rock star novels and her incorporation of real music into the stories. For this reason, I've started reading her other books, and this one was one of my favorites. You can't help but fall in love with Hen & Hannah. There's the perfect level of charming dorkiness in their story without any cheesiness. Before reading this one, I wasn't really motivated to read Kat's story, but now I can't wait to hear Kat's full story. I remember now why I love the Morgan clan almost as much as I love the Goats. Even if you've never read a Lauren Rowe book before, you can enjoy this one. Strongly recommend - especially if you enjoy romances with main characters who look more like everyday people and not supermodels.

Another Brilliant Installment

There is so much to love about Hacker in Love, and in particular, it was refreshing that the main characters were absolutely adorkable. Both narrators completely captured these characters and made me love them that much more. We get so many delightfully gray, alpha, overbearing MMCs in romance, but Henn is sweet, thoughtful, and a total dork. But as anyone who has read Lauren Rowe before, we also know that Henn has mad skills with a keyboard and isn’t shy about utilizing his abilities in questionably gray ways. He is the man you need when the proverbial… hit the fan or when you need to track someone down. We’ve only had glimpses of him in the past, but they were just enough that readers (including this one) really wanted him to have his own story.

Henn is a master at uncovering your secrets and finding those that don’t want to be found. His friends rely on him when sticky situations occur. But he is a little bit of an enigma. He keeps the extent of his white hat hacker skills to himself and always covers his tracks. When his friend falls in love, his love Kat knows that her bestie Hannah will be perfect for Henn. Their meet cute is adorable, and also adorkable. It’s a match made in heaven, but when Henn’s secrets start coming out, will Hannah accept what he’s done to win her over? Or will she walk away?

I loved how Lauren wove his story with plot points from her previous characters so the timelines are connected. We get to see so many of our favorite characters again and get to see Henn in action rather than just the mysterious results of his computer skills. And Hannah was adorable. She was the perfectly normal nerd that lies in us all that Henn needed in his life. Her storyline gave us the perfect juicy plot point to follow. This book is such a cute story about slightly nerdy people falling in love with a lot of steam, humor, and swoon.

After telling her readers repeatedly she would NEVER write Peter Hennesy's(aka Henn or Henny) and Hannah Banana's, it's now here! Henny and Hannah's story is just too stinkin adorkable! The only reason I give the performance 4 out of 5 stars is simply I had a different vision in who would voice Henn and Hannah. Ya know you get into a book and vision how these characters would look/sound and it just is a slight miss. John Lane and Lily Reynolds did a wonderful job, they just were not who I envisioned.

If I'm honest, their story reminded me a bit of my husband and I's story, so maybe I have some bias mixed in. I too have an insanely cute and dorky husband who can crack just about anything, hacking included! Sooo maybe I shouldn't admit that on the interwebs but honestly I just can't help to see a bit of Henny in my real-life version of Henny. The only other books I could truly connect with like I did with Hacker in Love was Swoon and Smitten. So to have a trifecta of sorts in which I can dive into parts of my reality with each of those and have the warmth and fondness from my own relationship, it's sort of rare. Actually it's something that I've never truly experienced with any other author beyond Mrs. Rowe's!

If you want the spice, you'll get it! If you want clenching your cheeks on the edge of your seat moments, they are there too. Overall though you get a freaking adorable story about two awkward humans trying to navigate their lives together, learning to trust and let go, knowing that this person is your person and they are your safe space. I personally feel beyond the previously mentioned books, Henn and Hannah's story are the most relatable in many facets to a relationship outside of a book!

This was beautifully written and the timeline created in previously written books was well matched to this story that has been oh 8 years in the making!

My gob was smacked indubitably!
