Austen comes to England knowing that as an American he'll stick out at his new school. But when an errant owl lands him at Hogwarts, he's in for more than he expected.

And as if it’s not hard enough being the only American at Hogwarts, Austen’s sorted into the most despised of all the houses. Then bumbling around the dungeon while trying to find his common room, he unwittingly helps the monster from the Chamber of Serpents. Will he discover the secret of the chamber before he becomes another victim of He-who-must-not-be-named?

This reminded me so much of Lion King 1 1/2! Definitely not a bad read for not being cannon!

HP 1 3/4

In short: shows the Slytherin (and an American students) perspective on Hogwarts and the events of the Chamber of Secrets in a hilarious fashion. Must-listen for every Slytherin but also HP fans of other houses.

A better perspective on the events of CoS

I liked how the author had an explanation for everything in terms of how the story fits into the original books and even filled some holes in the original. Very clever author.

I wish it were longer and he would’ve continued with more books, but I’m grateful for what we got!

It Was Funny

I do not get some of the low review numbers, the whole idea of a parody is to change the names for fun and I laughed at all of them. "Dumblesnore?" I laughed as I typed it. Listen carefully and there are a couple great ones that go by quickly. Listen for the one for Neville. I have read or listened to the whole Potter series over 30 times, so I have a pretty good grasp on the plot lines and the more esoteric aspects of the story. I think this story is a good accompaniment to the "real" story. Looking at the social dynamics at Hogwarts it was cool to think about it from a 180 degree viewpoint. Everyone does seem to hate Slyperine's, Although, some are complete jerks, if you take them out of the story, the other Slyperine's seem ok. I liked how the two stories intertwined and gave a whole different behind-the-scenes possibility. How would a muggle-born get along in Slyperine's? Why is a muggle-born in Slyperine? It is only a few hours and if you enjoyed listening to the others, it is worth a listen or two.

Great parody of a great story.
