Harry Holdsworth had never heard of his Great-Uncle George until he inherited the old man’s most cherished possession: an African Grey parrot named Madison. Harry’s first reaction was one of dismay. Who wants a big pet bird – one that could live for another 40 years?

But when Mad introduces himself in perfect American, Harry discovers he has found a friend – and more. For Mad is an ace at board games and crosswords, a fund of useful information, and even Harry’s homework improves under Mad’s tuition. Soon, the whole family are wondering what they ever did without him. Unfortunately, they are soon to be reminded!

Would you consider the audio edition of Harry's Mad to be better than the print version?

A very cute story with lots of excitement over the parrot, named Mad. I have really enjoyed the many books from Dick King-Smith and this one is no exception. Plan to snort and snicker while listening. Very silly!

Imagine inheriting a parrot!
