I enjoyed the story. The background of both characters were more summarized as the characters were getting ready to head back to their hometown for the wedding (Matt’s sister, Dex’s ex & best friend). Because there was so much of the back story that was laid out, it wasn’t out of pace when the chemistry and the relationship between Matt and Dex evolved. It had been a long time coming.
Low angst, low steam, sweet short listen.

Guy Veryzer’s narration didn’t work for me. I feel like his voice did not fit the characters of story. I stuck through it because it was a short listen and I enjoy the story. But if it had been a longer book, I’d probably read the ebook instead.

I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

This story is just under two hours long. I kind of enjoyed the story but what I didn't enjoy was the narration. The narrator sounds like an older gentleman so when he narrated Dexter and Matthews parts it sounded as though the two main characters were in their forties retailing their love story.

The two main characters meet their freshman year in high school and they are only about 7 years out of graduating whenthe romance picks up. So, when I started listening to this I didn't know how far in the future we were going to get.

As I mentioned before, I enjoyed this story and I enjoyed the growth that each character had in finding who they truly are. It is a short story so we didn't get to see them living their lives before they got together but I do want to see what happens next with these two.

Matthew's dad had me seeing red for his narrow minded biases. especially about his own flesh and blood! Grrr... Dad sure got a surprise wake up about his daughter's ex! lol!!! Don't judge a book by it's cover dad!!! After years if pain and heartbreak, it was good to see comfort and healing for Matthew and Dex. They deserved a hea. I look forward to more of this great couple. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job.
