Ministry is hard. And every ministry wife needs — and deserves — encouragement.

A woman marries a man, not his ministry. But all too often her husband’s calling complicates their life together. What if ministry life isn’t what she bargained for? What happens when her children make mistakes? How does she deal with church gossip, or even slander?

As a pastor’s wife of almost 50 years, Jani Ortlund addresses these questions, along with many others, as she offers encouragement and guidance to ministry wives. Jani reminds listeners that God works out his delightfully good purposes in and through their sacrifices.

Thank you, a sensible and practical book. It’s not a deep book but very helpful and encouraging in serving in our marriage with a pastor husband and depending on the Lord through it all.

Kind and encouraging

My husband and I share an account, so if this review shows up under a guy’s name, it’s actually by a pastor’s wife! This was an incredibly encouraging read/listen. The chapters are short and to the point. Jani’s narration is about the best you can ask for. I literally felt like I was just having a conversation with her and listening to her stories. I actually went and bought the print book after listening and will definitely listen/read again!

Feels Like a Coffee Shop Conversation

Engaging listen and very encouraging with actionable takeaways; love the pastor letters at the end of each chapter! Great reflection time.
