Small-town legacy. Biological clock deadline. Unwanted attraction.
Wes Calhoun has a plan:
Freedom. Travel. New business venture. No strings attached.
While his siblings embrace marriage, babies, and backyard barbecues, he’s choosing independence. A Calhoun brother, yes. Settled down? Absolutely not.
Kyndall Morrison doesn’t have that luxury.
A medical diagnosis. A ticking clock. A shrinking timeline for motherhood.
She wants a husband. A home. A family.
What she doesn’t want? Another emotionally unavailable man.
Temporary proximity changes everything.
Working together on a family venture forces late nights, close quarters, shared conversations, and undeniable chemistry. But Wes makes one thing clear:
No relationship.
No future.
No false hope.
He refuses to become her wasted time.
She refuses to settle for less than forever.
But attraction doesn’t care about timelines. And feelings don’t follow rules.
The more Wes fights it, the stronger it grows—protective instincts, quiet jealousy, unexpected longing. Suddenly, the freedom he wanted feels empty… and the future he feared looks a lot like happiness.
When love collides with a deadline, someone has to change.
Will it be him?

By mid-week (2 days?) they've already fallen in love and he, essentially, proposes by the end of the week. The only reason I listened the whole way through was some weird fascination with how ridiculous the whole store was. That I rate the virtual voice narration higher than the story says it all.
This should have been under fantasy
