Holly recently turned fifty years old and was aware that her community considered her to be an old maid. It was never her intention to be an old maid, she had just never met anyone that she wanted to fall in love with.

When her parents passed away, they left their large cabin to her. For years she had daydreamed about turning the cabin into a warm and cozy Christmas Inn. She had one large obstacle holding her back and that was her Uncle Mel who lived with her. He was very unpleasant and had not worked for the last ten years. She gives him an ultimatum to either start helping with the daily chores or he has two weeks to move out.

While shopping at an outlet store to purchase bedding for her inn, three rambunctious children hit her cart with their cart, knocking half of her bedding onto the floor! As she begins to pick up her merchandise, an apologetic and very handsome father, Dan Winthrop, introduces himself as a widower of the three tornados that just ran into her cart. Pleasantries are exchanged, and maybe there's hope for her status as an old maid to change to a very happily married woman!
