I have read (listened?) to most of the Empire of Bones series so I am very familiar with the amazing work both Terry and Veronica can do. This series does not disappoint. At least as good so far, if not better than, Empire of Bones. I will certainly be reading more of this series. My highest recommendation and a must read for anyone interested in space sci-fi.

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Amazing Story, Awesome Narration

Having read this series of books. I was looking forward to listening to them. Terry has given us the best of both worlds. Either way you want to enjoy the series, l recommend them. Just waiting for more.

yet another great series

Very smoothly written. Progression of story shows how people can change, some bad to good, and some bad to worse. Some also remaining true to their word. The Narrator was exceptional. Switching gender voices with excellence. Excellent vocal pressure, even in tense situations that the characters are experiencing.
I would recommend this audiobook to ages for ages 17 and older due to some adult situations and extended violence

Involving Science Fiction

This is a sci-fi book that starts out a little bit different than most. There are also many good twists and turns with villains and aliens. I really enjoyed this story and will be looking more closely at other Mixon books

Better than expected

I just started this book, and was beginning to enjoy it until the author decided to add some ridiculous twists to make it supposedly more exciting, not! Here you have an elite team that was supposed to be on the outlook of an enemy force, and fail to notice anything as an intruder takes advantage of their lack of due diligence! Bummer!

I will update this review if I manage to continue to listen!

Update: the incredulity of this book amazes me! The author continues to write in situations that could not be resolved, but the reality of possibilities are ignored! Still, parts of the book have held my interest.

Final update: I enjoy both science fiction and fantasy! I purchased this book for the science fiction aspect of the story but discovered a really "squirrely" story, which shifts between science fiction and fantasy. The author uses his literary license to such an extent that the story is often more fantasy than science fiction.

Having said that, I still enjoyed the story, except...I did not like, nor felt it added to the story, the family conflict! And really didn't like the brother's propensity to kill everyone, including the rape of women who he then kills. Not sure why the author went this direction, but in my opinion, it detracts from the main story.

Still, the main story is weird but kept my interest in wondering where the author was going with it. While all over the map, I was continually surprised. I increased the story to four stars, just on the entertainment of the main story.
