Although the legend of King Arthur has been told many times, rarely have the villains of the tale been given voices. Here, the treacherous half-sister of Arthur tells the fantastic story of her life, from her tragic childhood to the moment she realizes her fated role in the King's downfall. This is the perfect companion to Nancy Springer's I Am Mordred, an ALA Best Book for Young Adults.©2001 Nancy Springer (P)2001 Recorded Books Epic Fantasy Arthurian Fiction Science Fiction & Fantasy Fantasy Epic Literature & Fiction Royalty Family & Relationships Sword & Sorcery Romance Family

The story is good and interesting, but it is read in such a slow and ominous manner that detracts from the story.

a fantasy and we sculpting of Morgan la Fey

I am fairly obsessed with Morgan Le Fay lore, so I tend to pick up any book about her. This one was different, focusing on her childhood and early years. I was able to listen to it via a free trial of Audible Escape, which apparently is a subscription of romance novels (?), but this novel did not fit into that category if you ask me (which is a good thing). I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Very Much Enjoyed

I loved this book. It is beautifully written, the characters are all well developed, and the story is unpredictable (unusual in ''villian back story" novels). The story fills me with nostalgia for my childhood, when I loved hearing stories of knights and princesses and castles... but it adds enough serious, grown-up elements that I think a 13 year old and a 33 year old can both read and enjoy it. love love love this book. Take a risk on this hidden gem!

A beautiful fairy tale with bite

Very intimate telling of Morgan's thoughts, relationships and training as well as the struggles she went through. She is quite likeable in this version. I will try other books by this author.

Gentle side of Morgan

I was disappointed, by the time the story took off it was over. It felt like a waste of time.

I wanted to love it
