"The prison years did not seem too long for me, for I discovered, alone in my cell, that beyond belief and love there is delight in God: a deep extraordinary ecstasy of happiness that is like nothing in this world."

On February 29, 1948, Romanian secret police abducted Richard Wurmbrand off the streets of Bucharest because of his bold Christian witness. Despite the torture and great suffering he endured in a Communist prison, he loved and encouraged both his cellmates and his oppressors through the hope he had in Christ. In his book In God's Underground, Richard shares his story of triumphant faith amid deep anguish.

What an incredible story of Wurmbrund’s faithfulness, perseverance, wisdom and example of what it means to be a Jesus follower.

Amazing model for us to follow!

I hope to never have to face anything like this. I saw Richard W speak at Biola University when I was a little girl. His story has stayed with me for a lifetime. Came across this recently and was grateful to be able to listen.

Amazing book, wonderful storytelling. Great narrator. I will recommend.

Beware of the "Almost Right"
At approximately 00.34 seconds into Chapter 6 the author makes the 100% unfounded claim that the Bible says "Don't Be Afraid" a total of 366 times. It categorically DOES NOT, and a 5-minute word search via an online Bible Website like Bible Hub you can search the terms "Don't Be Afraid", "Don Not Fear", or as many love to parrot from the pulpit, "Fear Not". Unfortunately at this point in my life and my knowledge of God's Word I can no longer put up with "un-truths" from the pulpit, and the author who claims to be a Lutheran "pastor" should know better than to parrot claims he heard someone else say. This audible book will be returned. Do what you will with this information.
