I’ve listened to a million titles about famous/cult bands, and it’s a rare pleasure when one is written with such humor and panache. It’s even more unusual to find such clever and effective writing when the author is also the subject of the book, as is the case in this rollicking memoir. Gion’s story is more than just an addendum to Dig! It captures the magic and metamorphosis of the city of San Francisco and American culture more broadly through Gion’s quixotic life before, through, and beyond BJM. Highly recommended!

I really loved how Joel told these stories with great detail and care from the beginning of the Grunge and Britpop era and beyond. It’s really brilliant.

I love BJM and have for years. I love Joel's energy on stage and do believe he does create a great vibe for the whole band and stage.

I found the book however, read quite monotone and droll. So much talk about being f*#* up and drugs that it's distracting and just uninteresting.

This is unmatched to the joy I feel when I see him play. Honestly disappointed as I was looking forward to this and his being the reader.
