In the Lean Times is one amazing book with our favorite friends/enemies leading the charge. A prisoner was murdered under the supposed watchful eyes of the police department, and poor Irene was the number one culprit. If you've read/listened to book one, you will understand when I say the mayor has it out for her. Irene needs her friends now more than ever to investigate for her and find the murderer before it's too late. The story is well written, descriptive, suspenseful, heartbreaking as well as engrossing I could not stop listening to it. Carol Anne Shaw again knocks the narra8out of the park. I highly recommend this book and series. You won't be disappointed.
