I am not sure if I just missed out the horror elements of the story (because I was multitasking), but as I understood the story, the main character was confined/ institutionalized and a nun has been giving him something that he thought was a glass of whiskey. He was infuriated because it defied his religious (?) beliefs. Then that's it. I guess he still remained there and they were all just a dream.

I guess it is part delirious, after all. But horror? Not so much.

This is still a classic, methinks. It is written by Bram Stoker, after all.

More righteous than delirious

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The narrator was just adequate.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

This is a story of someone in an asylum and he has few lucid moments. The story is interesting, but it's just a story, couldn't be an entire book. If we knew why he was there, it might be good to add character development.

What aspect of Bill Andrew Quinn’s performance would you have changed?

More inflection in his voice, it was good, not great.

Was In the Valley of the Shadow worth the listening time?

Yes, it's only 15 minutes and is a good quick listen.

They're coming to take you away, ha ha!
