From USA Today best-selling author Devney Perry comes a small-town, enemies-to-lovers romance.

Winslow Covington believes in life, liberty, and the letter of the law. As Quincy, Montana’s new chief of police, she’s determined to prove herself to the community and show them she didn’t earn her position because her grandfather is the mayor.

According to her pops, all she has to do is earn favor with the Edens. But winning over the town’s founding family might have been easier if not for her one-night stand with their oldest son. In her defense, it was her first night in town, and she didn’t realize that the rugged and charming man who wooed her into bed was Quincy royalty.

Sleeping with Griffin Eden was a huge mistake, one she’s trying to forget. He’s insufferable, arrogant, and keeps reminding everyone that she’s an outsider. Winslow does her best to avoid Griffin, but when a woman is found dead on Eden property, the two of them have no choice but to cross paths.

As clues to the murderer lead to one of Quincy’s own, Griffin realizes Winslow is more than he gave her credit for. Beautiful and intelligent, she proves hard to resist. For him. And the killer.

This book was pretty good. It's definitely more romance with a side of murder mystery than the description makes it seem. So if you don't like romance heavy plots you might not like this. I thoroughly enjoyed that though. Also, there is spice but initially there were mostly fade to black scenes. We do get one or two explicit scenes towards the middle and end but it definitely was less spicy than booktok had me believing.

The story is about a woman who moved to a small town to be the new chief of police. The close knit community is distrustful of new blood and her being 30 years old also makes them doubt her ability to lead the police department. On her first night in town she meets a handsome stranger at a bar. Through some miscommunication both of them assume the other is just passing through. Jokes on them. The MMC is part of the founding family of the town and isn't looking for anything serious. He specifically only hooks up with tourists to avoid commitment. He's got a ranch to run and a ton of siblings. Being the oldest it's up to him to make sure everyone is taken care of. However, once he realizes the hot one night stand that he can't get out of his mind is actually the new chief, he's gotta figure out how to keep his distance. Which would've been fine if a girl hadn't committed suicide near his property and one of his ranch hands stumbled upon her. Now, the chief is sniffing around all the time and blurring all the boundaries. And not only that, but she's pretty sure it wasn't a suicide.

Small town romance with a side of mystery

How am I supposed to wait until January for the next book? This is such an amazing book. I’ve read and listened to it twice since Friday afternoon, I’m so hooked by this beautiful story. A big loving, hard working family who basically is the heart the town. A fierce, independent and sexy female as a chief of police of the town. A hot, hard working, sexy alpha male who’s a cowboy. A little bit of mystery to keep my heart rates elevated while reading. Yes! Please and thank you. Unlike anything I’ve ever read before,, is it January yet? Can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Bravo! This book is everything.

✨One night stand
✨New to town
✨She’s the ambitious new police chief
✨He’s a grumpy rancher
✨Murder mystery

Oh my gosh! I loved this book so dang much. Winslow and Griffin are perfection! Winslow is the new police chief in town and boy does she stand her ground. She has no problem going against the grain to figure out what is going on in their town while dealing with her own personal demons. On the other hand, Griffin is the town’s charming, grumpy rancher who is not to happy with her digging into the mystery going on in Quincy. Upon being thrust together by said mystery, their dynamic changed and evolves into so much more. Their relationship is so amazing even from the very beginning for me. What I appreciated most about Winslow and Griffin is how maturely they handled what they became and didn’t runaway from it or one another. The entire mystery of the story was enticing and twisty at every turn it seemed. When everything came to a head, I experienced so many emotions. Overall, this is my absolute favorite of The Edens Series thus far! Highly, highly recommend!

Devney reawakened my dead heart when it comes to my enjoyment of romance. I've been having the hardest time lately staying " in the story" when it comes to romance. One grumpy rancher and a rough yet sweet and nurturing cop just shocked my heart back into rhythm.

Griffin and Winslow were dynamite and serenity wrapped up in one package.
The way they fell for each other was perfect and I simply adored this story so much. Add into that the perfect amount of suspense and an amazing cast of unforgettable characters . I'm hooked and now I'm ready for Juniper Hill. 🎉🎉🎉❤️❤️❤️

Every Emotion!!
