This was an amazing story, an emotional rollercoaster, filled with love, angst and a tiny bit of a courtroom drama. I have been in a book slump lately, for the past months starting and not finishing book after book, thinking something is wrong with me, why can't I get into a story. It seems that Inside was exactly the book I needed, it captivated me from the first chapters and I was unable to put it down, finished in 2 days. This book ends in a good spot of the story, with a satisfying HFN, but I cannot wait to continue the Bishop's and Anson's story, so very excited for the book 2 to be released in audio. Narrator did a great job, his voice and storytelling ability made this a perfect listening experience. Highly recommend for readers who enjoy a bit of angst with their romance.

What a fabulous story that only Nicky James can write. And of course narration by Nick J. Russo is top flight. Your heart will bleed for Bishop, and you will be cheering and pulling for Anson. So much emotion. Excited listen to Outside.

An absolutely beautiful story. I love the narrator and the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars for performance is because I would have loved to hear a black man narrate Bishop. But otherwise this is one of my favorites from Nicky James!

This was such an exceptional read, I knew I had to revisit it in audio. I remember reading it and just being blown away by the emotion of the story between Bishop and Anson. Nick J Russo did a wonderful job giving voice to these two men! The emotion was very present in his narration, and he drew me right back into the story. I was hooked, even at 11 hours I barely stopped listening until the end. A death row inmate and his prison guard seem unlikely to form a bond, but the bond they form is so deep. Their story continued to evoke so many emotions in me. Nicky James did an amazing job pulling me in and providing me with everything I needed to feel part of the story. Nick J Russo made you feel the story with his narration. The attention to detail about prison life on Death Row in Texas really brought Bishop and Anson to life for me. Their story was so amazingly different, making it such a thought provoking read, I loved it. I found myself running on all the emotions and having myself a good cry at one point. Or two. I had almost forgotten part two wasn’t part of the audio, and now I’m a bundle of impatience for the next part of Anson and Bishop’s story. This is a must read or listen, and I highly recommend it. Don’t forget the tissues!
