I struggled for many years with believing the lie I couldn't make my dream come true because I never went college or because of a few mistakes in my past. There were times when I tried to let go of it because I didn't believe it was from God. Every disappointment that was shared from Pastor Josh happened to me. The difference is that he didnt give up and he continued to listen to the Holy Spirit. This book has encouraged me to dream again and to strengthen my relationship with God. seriously I have never read a book so fast, one week! it was more than life changing. God had just given me the words to my God sized dreams the same week this book released. this book showed me that God is not going to place something huge on your heart and not bring you through it. He has a vision for your life and the author has seen it in his own life, and speaks to his experiences in the book.

The focus of It's Not Over is not on self-motivation, otherwise known as Pulling Yourself Up From Your Bootstraps. Rather, Josh Gagnon explains that we need to rely upon the courage and strength of God which has been explicitly exhibited again and again in the characters in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. My "aha" moment is when Josh explained that the Holy Spirit IS THE POWER OF GOD and for us not to embrace our past disappointments and shortcomings but instead, embrace the power of the Holy Spirit that dwells in each of us who are believers in Jesus Christ.

Through God’s good Grace and many years of very big dreams and hard work, I have managed to get through many difficult challenges. Now I find myself at a place of contentment. While it is wonderful to finally experience true peace and contentment, I realize that I haven’t been creating new dreams that will take me to the next stage of my journey.

This book was a wonderfully entertaining read, and at the same time, it made me think more about what God wants for me now that I have come through to the other side. I particularly enjoyed being reminded that just because God may guide us to a certain dream does not mean it will be easy. As a matter-of-fact, it will probably have challenges, and that’s ok. I loved this book and will probably listen to it a second time.
