“Fascinating…the fullest portrait of Kennedy ever written.” —The Washington Post

The first oral biography of John F. Kennedy Jr. is an extraordinarily intimate and detailed look at the real man behind the myth. Sharing never-before-told stories, his closest friends, confidantes, lovers, classmates, teachers, and colleagues paint a vivid portrait of one of the most beloved figures of the 20th century who still captures public imagination twenty-five years after his tragic death.

Born into the spotlight, John F. Kennedy Jr. lived a short but remarkable life filled with expectation, ambition, family pressures, love, and tragedy. JFK Jr.dives deep into his complicated psyche and explores the what-ifs, illuminating both the cultural and political moment he inhabited and the way this son of a president, so full of promise, embodied America’s most cherished hopes.

I started getting into John a couple of years ago. When he died, I was just a little boy in the 90s, so I didn’t understand watching the news much back then about his loss. As I’m now in my 30s, I feel a lot of similarities and struggles with Mr. Kennedy. So much so, he’s become my role model now in striving to better myself and be a good man.

I’ve also strived to write an alternate history story where he lives, and inspires all of us towards a better path. I don’t think he’s truly gone, so long as everyone keeps his spirit and humanity alive in their own hearts.

This book was a great tribute to a truly good man.

Inspirational figure

I’ve read quite a bit on JFK, Jr. but this stands out as one of the best, if not THE best. Brutally honest and raw. Written by his personal assistant, with input from his inner circle, dating back to his teens. Highly recommend.

One of the best!

The ability the book had to make me still feel the actual pain of loss.

Outstanding

I loved the stories each person shared. It was so nice to hear how great John jr was with embracing people & how he loved so many. So sad what happened to them.

It was hard to keep up with who is who & what role they played in their lives.

Highly recommend this audible.

I liked how every comment was acknowledged by the specific name of the friend of John Kennedy. One thing I walked away with in this oral biography was the weight of being the son of a slain president that everybody loved. John Kennedy‘s beauty, his physical beauty, his kindness, his charisma, his charm they’re all still felt and seen today and no one can touch it. I love that his friends were such good friends, and they really shared his carelessness, his thoughtfulness his carefreeness, and that he was a good person. I feel for his beautiful wife the social pressure of the paparazzi, it must’ve just been horrific and depressing. I can’t imagine her mother losing two daughters so tragically and so young. All three we’re actually so young. I remember staying very close to the TV because that was also the weekend I was getting married and the whole time my bridesmaids and I were getting ready for my own wedding, we would be crying and trying not to cry because he was pronounced dead. though it’s been 26 years since they have passed away it seems like yesterday. Just a beautiful tribute and thoughtfully done! Thank you for sharing!

Beautiful tribute of a friend
