This is a very brief book, written as an educational biography and history of author. It does what it set out to do well. The reader is very business like and not incredibly engaging, but does capture the attention simply because of her assertive tone. While the story was interesting, it left me wanting more… I would love to read an autobiography by J. K. Rowling to get more nuance and emotion behind this obviously evocative story.

I enjoyed learning about J. K. Rowling’s childhood and history as a writer.
