A mysterious island. A prehistoric ecosystem. A trap sixty-five million years in the making.

When a state-of-the-art research vessel is destroyed by an impossible storm, the handful of survivors wash ashore on an uncharted island—a place that shouldn't exist. Dr. Rena Carver and head of security Jax are confronted with a terrifying reality: the island is a ship graveyard, a place where time has no meaning. Here, ancient wrecks are scattered on a jungle floor teeming with creatures long extinct.

Hunted by intelligent, pack-hunting raptors and stalked by a monstrous sea creature in the deep, the castaways find a journal from a World War II soldier that reveals the island's horrifying secret. To survive, they must journey inland toward a humming mountain, the source of the anomaly that has trapped them. But the island's apex predator, a Tyrannosaurus Rex of unimaginable size, guards the path.

With their numbers dwindling and a cold-blooded billionaire in their midst playing his own deadly game, Rena and Jax must unravel the mystery of a secret Soviet experiment to find a way out. Their only hope lies in a desperate plan to escape a prehistoric nightmare before they become the next victims of the island's insatiable hunger.

OK, these people are going on an expedition. Some of them are real smart, some of ‘em are strong, some are old(er) or young. Pretty, sexy, and ugly. A scientist, a military guy, a nerdy expert, plus a super hot babe. Add in one very obvious villain. Off they go somewhere… but a thing goes super wrong. Things blow-up, people get dead. The survivors end up in a prehistoric, or futuristic, or mutated world they gotta’ escape from. However, the villain tries like crazy to F things up. Why? You’re never sure. Monsters, or death-bots, or mutants attack. Everyone’s dies except the romantic duo and the villain. Then, at the very end a dozen or so super incredible lucky in-the- nick-of-time miracles happen and the good folks win. Often it all occurs in just the last page or so. I don’t know why pulp writers must insist on rewriting this same plot over & over. Take this audiobook for example, why don’t we have a group of folks who get along well, and actually try to help each other on this deadly-dangerous adventure. I’m so tired of listening to characters get angry and become psychopaths, or whine and go completely insane, or causes the death of other characters yet the rest still trusts them. All the unrealistic stuff that pushes you out of the story making you think “What the heck?!” Anyways, this is another one of those.

What was in the gosh darned suit case?!
