Things are quiet in the morning, especially in an unassuming town like Aledale. As they fall further into the intricate web spun by the people trying to get back what they claim is theirs, Jan and Shelley learn about a peculiar legend and why what they found needs to fall into the right hands. But not all hands are the right ones, and not all secrets can be kept. After all, some things are predestined to be jinxed.

A great book by Magner and equally impressive narration job by DuBois. Jinx is a shift in tone from Magner's second book- it leaves behind the eeriness of the underground moon and instead hones in on the mysteriousness/thrills of a classic mystery blended with fantasy-thriller. DuBois does an incredible job with the characters, especially given the intensity of some of the latter scenes. Blew through this one in two days because I was so hooked.

Great listen! The storyline is fantastic and the narrator does a really good job. I listened to another audiobook by this narrator and author and enjoyed it, and this one is just as good if not better, especially with the range of voices the narrator is able to do. Story+narration: 4.5 rounded to 5.
