Twins Loyal and Justice had a normal life until the woman that adopted them died. Choosing to fend for themselves rather than going into the system made for some tough times, but as long as they had each other everything was okay. At twenty-four years old, Justice is still trying to find his way when one chance encounter at a bar changes his life forever.

Lauren's mother was physically and verbally abusive causing her to leave home at sixteen years old. When she ran into the Infamous Wise Jacobs, he seemed like her savior until she got to know the real him and realized that he was nothing more than a predator. Join Lauren and Justice as their first meeting pushes them both into a whirlwind of events that they weren't prepared for.

The story was very interesting and kept my attention. The author kept using repetitive words and phrases such as "orbs" and "kissing my teeth". I'm reading the book in the series and its the same way, maybe its just her style. The male narrator leaves a lot to be desired, at times it sounds as if he's reading through clenched teeth.

Good story, but....

I enjoyed this book, but not so much for the male narrator. I guess a lot of people like his voice, but to me, it sounds like he’s mumbling & talking with a mouth full of food or rocks! It makes it hard to understand what he’s saying. Every time I see he’s the narrator, I second guess if I even want to read the book, but I love this author

This is a wild series with secrets after secrets coming out every other chapter 😵‍💫😳😲 J Y Kora & Midnight really showed out 💕💕 Excellent character development. Even though I started out hating Wise, for some reason I'm no longer completely hating him. Justice is that man 😍😍😍 Great story and narration is rare but this one had both. Great job👏🏽👏🏽

Excellent narration💕💕
