This book deals with the Conglomerate coming after Tanner. They finally hire a hit man to assassinate the hit man! Lots of action, danger, and Tanner outwitting his foes!
Enjoyable! Narration, not so much!

The story moves quickly in part because of the superficial detail. It is like reading or listening to an abridged version. Or like watching a TV crime drama where everything can happen, characters introduced, crime committed and solved in one quick hour. There is minimal character development but enough to get a feel, very limited descriptions of battles, weapons and plot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing but if you like richness of character, depth of plot and more descriptions of location and action this isn’t for you. There is also a ‘silliness’ or lightness in the story lines with characters like Merle and Earl. At times there involvement almost reminds me of Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series. Only unlike Evanovich's stories there is lots of killing and blood. This is nothing like Tom Wood’s Victor series or John Milton by Mark Dawson. I only gave it 3 stars because of the simplicity and lack of depth for the genre. It is not a bad book just not a great book. It doesn't leave me running to read or listen to the next book in the series.
