Ash, the water-whisperer, and Cooper, the earth elementalist, seek help from Cooper's grandparents while at their small farm in upstate New York. Fessing up to grandma might lessen the horror of their power control issues. When Ash and Cooper are together, the earth moves and the rivers rise to flood stage.

Keeping their relationship going without leveling the city pales in comparison to facing off with the greedy Brian Clegg and his gang. Brian works for the environmentally destructive frackers, threatening Pittsburgh like never before.

Two men. Their love. Their leadership. Will they rise to the occasion? And will Pittsburgh survive their struggle to set an evil deed to rest?

First things, first: do not listen to this book if you haven't listened 'Like a Rock', you'll miss a lot.

Here, we see the consolidation of Ash (water-whisperer) and Cooper (earth-sense)'s relationship, and how they are trying to get together without, you know, causing a disaster :P Their relationship is developed in a way that shows it as surpassing the simply physical and entering the spiritual and metaphysical.

We get to meet Cooper's family and friends, and, even better, we discover what I think is the major plot point of the whole series: Brian Clegg. After all, the series is called 'Disorderly Elements', isn't it? And what is Clegg doing, but breake the balance between the elements, and destroy the environment?

The story flows smoothly, and the balance between relationship and suspense is wonderfully done. The Universe created by the author is truly compelling, and I found myself deeply immersed in it, and unwilling to get out. That's why I immediately got into the third book after finishing this one :P

Kevin Chandler is still doing a great job with the narration :)

A great second book!
