LEGENDARY AGENT JAMES BOND CONFRONTS AN ENEMY UNLIKE ANY HE’S FACED BEFORE

James Bond is not an easily intimidated man, but it’s hard not to feel unnerved in the presence of Mr. Big. A ruthless Harlem gangster who uses superstition and fear to control his vast criminal empire, he’s also one of SMERSH’s top American operatives.

Mr. Big has been smuggling British pirate treasure to New York from a remote Jamaican island and funneling the proceeds to Moscow. With help from Solitaire, Mr. Big’s beautiful and enigmatic Creole fortune teller, and his old friend Felix Leiter of the CIA, 007 must locate the crime lord’s hideout, sabotage his operation, and reclaim the pirate hoard for England.

The reader is absolutely charming until she does the “American” accent. I’ve never heard that accent from any state.

As an American, I have no clue what that American accent is supposed to be.

I've always been a huge bond fan but just recently I've started listening to the books and they didn't disappoint at all

James Bond is a badass

They changed the words in the book to satisfy modern sensibilities. Don’t buy this version, look for an authentic reading of the original novel.

Bond is Bond, but unfortunately this story was ruined for me by the narrator. Her American accents would have been funny if they weren’t so annoyingly awful. I found the narration completely unlistenable and gave up about 1/3 of the way through. Save your money and get the book.

Worst narrator ever!

Not sure how they could do this, but they broke the cardinal rule of audio books. Using the wrong gender for the narrator. No matter how good they are, they can’t carry the book. So for that reason I haven’t yet finished the book when the first was epic,

Never use a female narrator for male a primary character!
