I enjoyed this book as much as the first one. It’s a fun, light, clean romance. Percy is charming and delightful; Adelaide, however, was less so. She wasn’t unlikable but her insecurities and constant denial became tedious. Overall, though, the book was quite good and I would definitely recommend.

The narrator does very well with the accents and voices. She mispronounces many words and that is distracting but not enough to take away from the story.

Wonderful stories each. Proper narrations. Delightful characters. Predictable plots: Lady in dire circumstances, in Regency England, left penniless relying on her own wit to survive. Along comes a handsome Duke or lower peer to the rescue. Battles of wit, independence, and imputence of assumptions and then a meeting of the minds erupts. If course, all gave a most happy ending.

I enjoyed the first book in this series very much, however, I just couldn’t stand Percy’s voice in this narrative. I know it was the same in the last one, but he wasn’t the main character. The narrator makes him sound like a stougy old man. I quit the narrative and just read the book.
