Someone is killing werewolves. At least, that's the way Vincent Van Gogh tells it when he shows up at Mark Abernathy's art gallery seeking protection. For gallery assistant and art history addict Hanna Harvey, meeting Van Gogh is a dream come true—until death follows the troubled artist to town and Hanna becomes the murderer's next target.

When Alpha Wereboss Mark Abernathy goes missing, a new wave of murders draws the attention of drool-worthy Detective James Morrison, further complicating Hanna's epic dating dilemma. Only absinthe-swilling bodyguard Toulouse Lautrec stands between Hanna and the malevolent murderer whose grudge runs deep and appears to be connected to the mystery of her bloodline.

Damning evidence convinces Morrison that saving Hanna's life requires ending Abernathy's, and she's forced to choose between protecting the man who holds the key to her past, or spilling her secrets to the detective who could promise her a future.

Contains mature themes.

I enjoyed large swaths of this, but the casual treatment of assault done by buffoon characters was still hella triggering for me. I wish the author had taken a bit more care around this topic or that Audible had a rating system to include CWs.

A romp that needs content warnings

This author, Cynthia St. Aubin is a great storyteller and so lol funny! And Stella Hunter makes this book come alive! She’s so very good at giving so many characters different voices and maintaining them throughout the books! It’s amazing to me! She’s also funny and understands how to perform so many different feelings!! And to make the funny parts even more funny if read to oneself! I think I release the 2nd and 3rd in this series out of order and didn’t even realize it until the end of this book! It didn’t affect my enjoyment of it. I’ll keep listening to the series because these books are guaranteed to make me talk out loud to the characters as things happens and laugh out loud throughout! Those are gems for me! Thank you to the CS and SH!!!

Excellent pairing, the author and performer!!!

I listen to the first book for a book club I’m a member of earlier this year. I enjoyed it so when the rest it the series was I sale I bought them. Really enjoyed the continuation of the series. Slowly we’re finding more about Mark and Hannah their past and relationships with each other.

Loved it

The humor was awesome. The honest way women think when they are deeply attracted to a man. Yet keep to themselves. "Miss Aubin unapologetic brought out so so much humor in a fictional book, that honestly makes a women know that feelings, emotions and sexuality is normal and it's a good thing I'm the real world. Women think like Hanna.

Then there is the best parts of a book where you go "I didn't see that coming".. five stars is not enough for this book.

My goodness the humor.
