Kit, the marquis of Ashton, is in a sticky wicket. He married young and for love - how naïve. He discovered his mistake the very day of his wedding, but he is saddled now with a wife he's reluctant to trust. And however much evidence he gathers against faithless Jess, he can't seem to prove her guilt to the final judge - his foolish heart.

Jess knows she's bobbled her marriage, however innocently. A fairy-tale wedding makes no difference if she hasn't got the marquis charmed to show for it. Well, she's had enough of accidental encounters with naked gentlemen and near misses and explaining things to her husband. It's time to buck up and go win her man back - even if she has to fight very dirty indeed.

Contains mature themes.

This book followed suit with previous books in the series; mystery to solve, before arriving at a happy conclusion. Decent book but not the best in the series. Loved the narrator and her voice changes for the characters. Well worth the listen for that alone.

Trouble makers, jealousy and misunderstandings.

wonderful story

It's funny that I just wrote a review earlier stating that that book had been fairly tame... and it seemed surprising considering that the entire story revolved around mature themes, and sex was the main topic... it was still very tame. But very good! I had put off this last Duchess of Love novel for some reason. I'm glad I finally listened... it was well worth it.

NARRATOR : Abby Craden did a good job. She's not one of my favorites and her style and this particular novel were well matched since the majority of the story is told as each characters thoughts. Her intonation... which otherwise is grating at times, worked perfectly with the inner musings driving this story. Her slightly whispering rather staid delivery suited.

CREDITWORTHY? : I wouldn't rush to use my last credit on it... but yes, I think it is.

HEAT FACTOR : As I said... sex in many forms is the main topic here. But it's not steamy at all...
So I would say LOW.... but mature.

Duchess of love indeed!
