Wealthy luxury boat maker Tim Dowd had all but given up on dating. He’s far too picky and his darker cravings don’t exactly qualify him as husband material in his conservative community.

When an unforgettable newcomer arrives with a short-term aim of developing a new subdivision, Tim can’t help but wonder “What if?” Valerie Lawson has the full package. She’s stunning, smart, has a wicked sense of humor, and possesses lustful urges that rival his own. But the ambitious architect is a rising star and had never planned to stay. Her next big job is thousands of miles away, and Tim can’t follow.

Valerie doesn’t think a woman like her can have it all. Tim might need to recruit some help from unexpected places to convince her that she can.

First, the narrator was great! We've not heard her before, and she was really good with differentiating all of the characters so you always knew who was talking.

We're fans of Holley Trent, but we usually go for her science fiction or paranormal books. This contemporary was a hit out of the park. The characters were mature in action and deed, and still had tons of fun. There was no (forgive the way we say this) stupid, immature, dumb hero or heroine here. Nope, these people knew what they wanted and needed, and weren't afraid to go for it. They also weren't reckless with other people's feelings, but still made their points, stood up for their wants/needs and in the end, it all worked out.

The heroine was a bit too 'independent' at first, but as the story went on it became clear why she was the way she was. All of the characters were nicely developed and there was growth on all sides (include the side kicks) before the end of the book. All loose ends tied up and we're ready for the next one!

Another winner!
