Some enemies don’t get mad. They get even.

Logan Conner and Wholesale Slaughter won the day on Revelation, but the Starkad Supremacy doesn’t like failure. If they can’t beat Sparta on the battlefield, they’ll make them fold from within.

It’s been over 20 years since the failed coup that killed the rightful Guardian and put Logan’s father on the throne of Sparta, but the same resentments and family rivalries still burn bright. It doesn’t take much for a dissatisfied political rival to be converted into an enemy agent.

The traitors strike without warning, and in the space of a day, Logan is on the run, without his father, without his throne, without the Spartan military to back him up. The only friends he can count on are his brother, Terrin, his fiancée, Katy, and the rest of Wholesale Slaughter.

If Starkad and their allies think this war is over, they don’t know Logan Conner.

Narrated by the award-winning Marc Vietor.

Another great offering!

This is a very exciting series. The tension continues to build. I like that each book has an ending that leaves you wanting the next one but doesn't leave you on a cliff hanger.

Great continuation of this wonderful and exciting series. Connor Logan, his brother Terrin, his new wife Katy and the rescued Constantine will now move forward to take back Sparta, their homeland.

No romance and the F-bomb was used 23 times.

As for the narration: Marc Vietor is absolutely marvelous!

Better and better..

I have really liked this series until this book. Although I am glad I listened to this story on Audible, I will not continue with any future books in the series. Much of the story was good and in keeping with the series. However, there were two major issues in this book for me. Spoiler alert here: The first issue is that too many of the main characters are killed off and the secondary characters were not developed enough to fill the void. Second, the technology discovered at Terminus by Sparta was so advanced, the smartest people were unable to full understand the Star Drive and no one could figure out what particles were being fired by the beam weapon. Yet, the bad guys were somehow able to secure enough data, figure out how everything works and then build a Star Drive war ship in a matter of months, all in order to leave a cliff hanger ending.
I'm sorry, but that's not good writing in my opinion.

Too Contrived

Enjoyed book, but had to start it twice to get past the narrartor. It's not that the narrator's bad per say, just.not right for this type of book - a military aci fi.
Not even sure I can pin down what it is. His tone of voice? Accent? A feeling the feel & pacing are all the same so it's monotonous & hard to follow when action picks up or characters change as they mostly sound the same?
I like the story enough to want to finish the series, but that's more a preferance to want to finish a story, find out what hsppens next & thatcthe books are only 1.99 ea with the Kindle Unlimited Plan, than tolerating the narrator.
The books would definitely benefit from a more expressive reader like RC Bray. for an exam pl le off the top of my head.
I m sure the narrator's great at other types of stories, but not this type.
Just my opinion for what it's worth.
This book seemed a little on the short side too?.
