Luc Richard is the hottest player in the NHL - and it has nothing to do with hockey. His racy relationship with his supermodel ex set the tabloids on fire but nearly put his career on ice. To avoid being traded, Luc agrees to take a break from the spotlight - and from women - and spend the off-season at home in Silver Bay, Maine. It's the perfect plan...until he reconnects with Rose.

Rose Caplan is tired of being shy, sweet, and safe. She's ready for passion, romance - and Luc. Having loved him longer than she can remember, she's finally ready to prove that she's not the same innocent little girl he once knew. Off the ice Luc doesn't do games, but this new Rose makes him feel like playing a little dirty. If he's really got a shot at her heart, he's not just playing to win. He's playing for keeps.

Contains mature themes.

I swear I'd give this 5 stars for the French accent alone, the great story is an added bonus. :)

French accents may be my new addiction

Great read though sometimes I get frustrated at the situations the players get into to make their life a mess. At least the bunny told the truth. The love story was good and how they found there way to each other. I liked how they were friends first and new all about each other before falling in love.

The story is fun and has a happy ending. The intimate scenes are good.

The female narrator did a much better job than the male narrator. His "French"accent needs some work so it's not as stilted and there are fewer breakthroughs of his natural style. While it did not usually take away from the listen it did not add to the sexiness of the writing.

Still a good listen

Good story ok narration

Technically a spoiler, but I feel like it needs to bed said.

I liked this story more than the first book. It was almost a good story. But near the end the MMC gets very drunk and passes out in his bed alone. He awakens naked and a random women, not the MFC, is in her underwear in the bed with him. Rose and a few other people in the house see him and the woman in bed. At this point the MMC and MFC were together. Luc cannot remember what happens, clearly states if he did anything with the woman, he would have only done so if he was confused and thought it was Rose. But because he was so drunk he passed out, he can't say nothing happened. He did clearly tell the women he wasn't interested earlier before going to bed alone. I hate how everyone in the book acted like he cheated. This is the definition of ass*ult. If the genders were reversed the plot and reactions would be very different. The MMC couldn't and didn't consent and was too drunk to even know what happened. The last thing he knows he did was go to bed alone thinking of the MFC. I really hate this plot point. The rest of the book was pretty decent, but I can't stand how trivial everyone is acting at the fact someone tried to take advantage of the MMC (presumably, I haven't finished the book yet to know if the woman did anything). He should be considered a victim, not a cheater. With an hour left of the story, I'm having a hard time finishing it. I'll probably finish it to see how the book handles this situation, but I really am disgusted by this plot. I'm hoping it was just a misunderstanding and the woman just passed out and didn't try to do anything. At least if that happens, nothing bad happened to the MMC. It still doesn't change the reactions of everyone.

This is worse than bad writing or bad narration. It could also be a trigger for some.

It was almost good
