South Florida's premiere sleuth-about-town strikes again -- in a deliciously daffy caper that takes a decidedly deadly turn.
When the Palm Beach Community Theater needs a director for its Production of Arsenic and Old Lace, Archy tosses his megaphone into the ring. After all, Hollywood legend Desdemona Darling will lend her considerable talents to the production. While resident grande dame Lady Cynthia Horowitz wants a little of the spotlight to fall on her latest live-in hunk, Buzz Carr, she has no intention of letting Buzz rehearse all day with the actress, who, like Lady C, has made marriage a cottage industry.
For poor Archy, there's more drama backstage than onstage, and plenty of confusion everywhere, especially with the fuzzy-headed Binky Watrous serving as stage manager. When an actor takes a sip of prop wine and drops dead, the Palm Beach police suddenly take a special interest in the local theater scene.
In a play filled with murders, only Archy can separate the actors from the genuine article, and bring down the curtain on the latest and most enjoyable of McNally's follies.©2000 Lawrence A. Where does McNally's Folly rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I have listened to almost all of the McNally books by Vincent Lardo with Mr Gaines as the reader and loved everyone of them

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

True Archie does twist and turn to get to the end and yes, I was very interested to solve the mystery

What about Boyd Gaines’s performance did you like?

Without a doubt Boyd Gaines is the only reader to reflect the true flavor of PALM beach. I enjoy his reading very much

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Well, when the super rich have problems it does make us lesser mortals smile, but no one likes to see anyone murdered who doesn't deserve it. I did both, laugh more than cried

Any additional comments?

Realizing that there won't be anymore books about Archie is sad. I love the series

Archie is at it again, he is an interesting one

I love the private restaurant/bar; but he has too much sex with too many women. I suppose that’s I for the men to enjoy. I like the different characters.

The humor

I’ve listened to all the other available Audrey McNally audio. Something is definitely wrong with this one too much.
I bought the actual book and when I have time I’ll read it but the whole point in buying audios. I’m very disappointed they cut this book up so much.

Too short
