Crimson Cursed duology. It was described as Jane Eyre meets Dracula, and I can see it. Mina Murray, an English school teacher, is brought to Transylvania to meet her betrothed, Count Dracula. However, Dracula is no Mr Rochester! Mina is very meek, a product of her time, but she was also smart enough not to fully trust the people in the castle. She has an unlikely ally in Van Helsing and Quincey Morris. This is a duology, so it ends in a cliffhanger. So far, I like the retelling and how Amelie West is spinning this story. I also want to see what happens! I will be continuing on in the duology. I like the audiobook. Cynthia Lucia is an excellent narrator.
