Nothing seemed to help. He was told he had a degenerative disease and "There is nothing more to be done, we don't know the cause and there is no cure. Learn to live with it". However, Mike refused to accept such dogma. Over time, he learned how to live without it and was able to free himself of his symptoms.
He spent the next 20 years supporting other sufferers and helping them learn how to live without it. He ran the Meniere's Help website for 17 of those years and on that site, the most read and searched for page was, 'Mike's Meniere's Story'.
In May 2025, Mike passed the Meniere's Help site on to Dr Burcon (renowned for helping those whose symptoms were cervicogenic in origin) and has now put two decades of content from the site into the Meniere's Help Journal, a bi-weekly journal that he sends out to subscribers over a 6-month period. (contact meniereshelp@gmail.com to subscribe).
This book is the edited and updated version of Mike's Meniere's Story. A story that shares the experiences of that suffering but ultimately takes you beyond just hope that you can rid yourself of vertigo and Meniere's disease. As you will read, in the end, it comes down to your choices and the consequences of those choices - otherwise known as cause and effect.
